Ethereum Foundation Invests in Hong Kong Privacy Workshops
The Ethereum Foundation has announced its sponsorship of the WPPT 2026 workshop in Hong Kong. The workshop focuses on privacy-preserving technologies at the intersection of cryptography, blockchain, and data privacy.
WPPT stands for Workshop on Privacy-Preserving Technologies and brings together researchers working on these topics. The Ethereum Foundation has allocated support to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Research Centre for Blockchain Technology in Q2 2026, funding scholarships and events.
The foundation views the gap between transparency and user privacy as a solvable engineering problem rather than an inherent limitation of the platform.
