Ethereum Foundation Locks in Mandatory Upgrades for 'Hegotá' Rollout
The Ethereum Foundation has announced two mandatory Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) for the upcoming 'Hegotá' upgrade, marking a unified position from the protocol division.
The proposals aim to strengthen censorship resistance and enable more flexible account authentication. EIP-7805, known as FOCIL, establishes a mechanism that forces transactions listed on inclusion lists created by validators to be included in blocks, preventing transaction exclusion by centralized builders.
EIP-8141, referred to as 'Frame Transactions,' allows the protocol layer to freely define how transactions are validated, executed, and gas is paid, introducing native account abstraction. This will enable a transition to quantum-resistant cryptography without requiring a hard fork each time the signature scheme changes.
