The Ethereum Foundation has announced that it will focus on enhancing censorship resistance and expanding account authentication options in its upcoming Hegotá upgrade. The foundation's Protocol cluster, which includes researchers and engineers overseeing core Ethereum developments, conducted a comprehensive review of 62 proposed Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs).

After input from approximately 60 experts, the ranking process resulted in a unified set of priorities, with EIP-7805 (FOCIL) and EIP-8141 (Frame Transactions) being named as the 'must ship' features for Hegotá. FOCIL aims to give users a direct pathway for transaction inclusion without relying on centralized block builders, while Frame Transactions will bring more versatility to how accounts interact with the network.

The Foundation stated that if either of these two proposals faces risk of omission, the entire Hegotá schedule should be delayed rather than proceeding without them. This marks a significant step in clarifying the scope for this major network update.
