The Ethereum Foundation has issued a warning about potential wallet disruptions due to an upcoming update. The Glamsterdam update will change the gas model, which could cause software malfunctions in wallets and other tools.
Developers believe that wallets, indexers, and fee assessment tools may be affected by this change. They suggest testing systems on the Plataberget testnet before the mainnet release.
The issue is related to EIP-8037, which introduces a separate state-gas measurement for operations creating new states. This will incur additional charges for sending coins to new addresses.
