Ethereum Glamsterdam Upgrade Faces Critical Test Before Mainnet Activation
The Ethereum Glamsterdam upgrade is facing another crucial test before its planned activation on October 6. The upgrade, which aims to improve the network's performance and scalability, has been under development for several months.
According to a recent update from Christine D. Kim, a protocol researcher, the team has shifted their focus to Glam-Devnet-11, which is scheduled to launch on September 14. The test network will undergo a fork transition two days later, and it's expected to have around 84,000 validators operating on various combinations of execution and consensus clients.
The Glamsterdam upgrade is still facing some challenges, including issues with validator finality detected in previous private tests. The team aims to conduct another coordinated test before moving the planned protocol changes onto Ethereum's public testing infrastructure.
