Ethereum Introduces Programmable Transactions with 'Frames' Upgrade
Ethereum developers have proposed an upgrade to the network's transaction system, introducing 'frames' that will allow for more programmable and flexible transactions. The upgrade, which is scheduled for 2027, aims to address a long-standing issue with Ethereum's current fee system.
Currently, users who hold stablecoins or tokens in their wallets are unable to transfer them without sufficient Ether (ETH) to cover the transaction fees. This can be a problem for users who don't want to hold ETH directly, but still need to make transactions on the network.
The proposed 'frames' system will allow users to separate authorization, fee payment, and execution into different parts of the transaction process. This will enable users to use stablecoins or other tokens to pay fees, without having to acquire ETH directly.
