Ethereum Launches Attackathon: A $2M Hackathon for Security
The Ethereum security team is launching a four-week hackathon called 'Attackathon' to test the blockchain's security. The event, which will take place every time there's a hard fork in the future, aims to be the largest crowdsourced security audit of Ethereum's codebase.
The hackathon offers a $2 million reward pool, with the EPS team contributing $500,000 and seeking an additional $1.5 million in sponsorships by August 1.
Security researchers will search for vulnerabilities in the protocol's code, following specific rules set by the competition. Only impactful and rule-compliant reports will be rewarded.
