Ethereum Network Activity Surges to 870k Transactions Daily
Ethereum's network activity has surged by nearly 45% in recent weeks, reaching daily transaction counts of approximately 870,000. This increase reflects growing engagement with decentralized applications and DeFi protocols as ETH consolidates above $3,200.
The expansion began on December 29th when daily total transfer counts reached around 1.06 million transactions, a figure that has remained elevated since then. The 7-day moving average of total transfer counts now stands at approximately 870,000 transactions, indicating a structural shift in network usage rather than a single event-driven spike.
This increase in transaction volume is significant because it indicates network health and organic demand, particularly during consolidation phases when price-driven speculation recedes. As ETH approaches the $3,500 region, where the 50-week and 100-week moving averages converge, a reclaim of this level could favor a renewed push toward higher levels.
