Ethereum Outperformance Forecast by Tom Lee Amid Tokenisation Growth
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairman of BitMine's board, forecasts that Ethereum (ETH) will outperform Bitcoin over the next several years. According to Lee, Ethereum is establishing itself as financial infrastructure, handling payments and collateral beyond being a speculative asset.
The Ethereum network currently hosts more than $12 billion worth of tokenised U.S. Treasury products. Lee cites this as evidence that Ethereum is building an ecosystem that many developers, applications, and liquidity depend on. He predicts that Ethereum could attain the same status as the U.S. dollar within the next 5 years.
BitMine, a company advised by Tom DeMark of DeMark Analytics, holds 5.93 million ETH, worth about $14.8 billion at current prices. This represents 4.9 percent of total Ethereum supply. Lee notes that while the market is focused on whether Ethereum can sustain outperformance against Bitcoin, he believes that if Bitcoin rises to $150,000 and the ETH/BTC ratio climbs to 0.04, Ethereum could reach $6,000.
