Ethereum Outperforms Bitcoin in Relative ETF Inflows
Ethereum spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen higher relative inflows than their Bitcoin counterparts since June, according to a new analysis from crypto market maker DWF Labs.
The firm reported that while Bitcoin ETFs still attract larger absolute dollar amounts, Ethereum ETFs are gaining ground when measured against fund size. This signals a potential shift in institutional investor sentiment.
DWF Labs' data shows that spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs combined saw $1.1 billion in net inflows over the past week, with Bitcoin ETFs accounting for $865 million of that figure, while Ethereum ETFs drew $243 million. Although Bitcoin's absolute inflows remain dominant, the relative performance tells a different story.
The trend is significant because it suggests institutional allocators are increasingly rebalancing their portfolios toward Ethereum, despite its smaller overall market share. This could be due to Ethereum's broader utility in decentralized finance (DeFi) and smart contracts, which may appeal to institutions seeking diversified exposure.
