Ethereum Outshines XRP as Altcoin Market Awaits Recovery
XRP and Ethereum are two of the most closely watched altcoins in the market. While both have struggled over the past year, their prospects for recovery differ significantly.
XRP is the native token of the XRP Ledger, a blockchain designed for fast and low-cost cross-border payments. Its price fell 64% over the last 12 months, largely due to the rise of stablecoins that undermined its usefulness as a bridge currency. XRP lacks sufficient near-term catalysts, making it less attractive to investors.
Ethereum, on the other hand, has more irons in the fire. Despite losing luster as the crypto market cooled off, Ethereum remains the top developer-driven blockchain by a wide margin. Its upcoming networking upgrades are expected to improve efficiency and boost its total supply.
