Ethereum Overhauls Gas Fee System to Simplify User Experience

Ethereum is not abandoning its native cryptocurrency, ETH, but rather making it easier for users to interact with the network without needing to hold ETH in their wallets.

According to EIP-8141, a proposed update to the Ethereum protocol, users will no longer need to personally pay for gas fees using ETH. Instead, other accounts can cover these costs on behalf of the user, allowing them to complete transactions using assets like USDC.

This change aims to address long-standing issues with user experience on Ethereum, making it easier for new users to onboard and reducing barriers to adoption.
