Ethereum Overtakes Bitcoin as Crypto Market Focus Shifts
Ethereum has emerged as a strong contender in the crypto market, outperforming Bitcoin by nearly doubling its return over the past month. With a gain of 19.7%, ETH has been quietly building momentum and trading between $1,880 and $1,970 in late July.
This shift in conversation from 'when does BTC break out' to 'why is ETH outrunning everything' highlights the growing interest in Ethereum. In contrast, Bitcoin has been stuck in a holding pattern around $65,500, oscillating between $64,000 and $66,500. The largest altcoin's comeback can be attributed to several factors, including rising ETF flows into Ethereum-linked products and increased staking participation at 34%, effectively removing a growing share of circulating supply from the tradeable float.
The Federal Reserve's interest rate policy is also playing a significant role in Bitcoin's consolidation. Market participants are eagerly awaiting signals on monetary policy, keeping BTC range-bound with steady but not spectacular trading volumes.
