Ethereum Plummets to $2,500 but Experts See Buying Opportunity
Ethereum's price has plummeted to $2,500, down 50% from its all-time high of $4,954 reached last August.
This drop might be a buying opportunity, as institutional investors are showing renewed interest in the cryptocurrency, with ETF inflows returning after a long hiatus. In fact, more than $1.8 billion flowed into Ethereum ETFs in August, marking the best single month since 2025.
Ethereum's dominance in decentralized finance (DeFi) remains unchallenged, with its market share at a whopping 56% of total value locked (TVL), according to DefiLlama. This is crucial as DeFi trends such as stablecoins and real-world asset tokenization drive growth.
Experts predict Ethereum's upside could be as high as $10,000 or even $250,000, with some investors believing it can regain its all-time high from last summer if the current crypto rally holds.
