Tom Lee, chairman of Bitmine, believes that Ethereum is poised to break out of its consolidation phase, driven by growth in tokenization and agentic AI tied to the network. Speaking at Paris Blockchain Week 2026, he described the recent crypto downturn as a 'mini crypto winter' that may already be nearing its end.

Lee pointed to improving macro conditions and equity market stabilization as reasons for his optimism. He noted that equity markets have historically bottomed during periods of bad news, including geopolitical tensions, before recovering.

Ethereum's price has been volatile in recent months, currently trading near $2,300, down over 40% from its October 2025 levels. Despite this decline, Bitmine continues to accumulate Ethereum, recently acquiring over 71,000 tokens and now holding around 4.6 million Ethereum, representing more than 4% of total supply.

Lee projected that Ethereum could reach $60,000 or even $62,000 in the coming years, based on its potential to capture roughly one-quarter of Bitcoin's long-term valuation.
