Ethereum Prepares for Quantum Risk with New Staking Proposal

Ethereum developers have proposed rebuilding the validator deposit contract to use quantum-resistant keys for future ETH staking deposits.

This would eventually stop accepting new deposits secured by today's BLS signature format, creating a migration route before advanced quantum computers can threaten validator security.

Around 42.4 million ETH is currently staked, worth roughly $104 billion, making the proposal a crucial step in protecting this capital and maintaining Ethereum's long-term credibility.
