Ethereum's price has been hovering near $2,465 as it faces a crucial support test around $2,438-$2,440. The network's post-quantum roadmap is also being addressed through EIP-8288, which proposes recursive STARK aggregation to reduce the cost of quantum-resistant signatures and cryptographic proofs.

Vitalik Buterin and Thomas Coratger proposed EIP-8288 on September 9, allowing transactions to declare quantum-resistant signatures and STARK proofs as dependencies. This would enable mempool nodes and block builders to combine them into one recursive proof, reducing the high data and gas costs associated with post-quantum signatures.

The proposal is currently in draft form, with no confirmed deployment schedule. Buterin has expressed hope that EIP-8288 can be considered for the I-star fork after Hegota, describing it as a next step after Frames.
