Ethereum Price Forecast 2030: What Drives ETH's Value?
Ethereum's price has been volatile in recent years, but its institutional and staking footprint has grown significantly. As of mid-to-late 2026, ETH is trading around $2,400, with a market capitalization of roughly $290 billion.
The Ethereum network has continued to evolve, with upgrades such as Shapella, Dencun, Pectra, and Fusaka introducing improvements in staking, Layer-2 data sampling, and validator operations. The next major upgrade, Glamsterdam, is targeted for Q4 2026 and aims to restructure block processing and prepare Ethereum for greater parallel execution.
Institutional participation has also increased, with U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs accumulating approximately $13 billion in cumulative net inflows since launch as of September 2, 2026. BitMine reported holding approximately 5.90 million ETH as of August 30, 2026, equivalent to about 4.9% of the stated ETH supply.
The question remains: what will Ethereum be worth in 2030? There is no consensus, with forecasts ranging from $10,000 to $40,000. Standard Chartered predicts a $40,000 target for the end of 2030, while VanEck estimates a $22,000 base-case price by 2030.
