Ethereum Price Hinges on Support as Staking Growth and ETF Inflows Offset Negative Order Flow
Ethereum's price has remained above $1,850 support, but its path forward remains uncertain. The token's staking participation continues to rise, with a current ratio of 34.4% in August, up from 30.0% at the start of this year.
According to Token Terminal, Ethereum's validator exit queue has fallen to zero, and around 2.48 million ETH are waiting to enter staking. This suggests that demand for staking remains strong, reducing the immediately available supply of ETH outside of validator commitments.
However, market demand still determines how reduced liquidity affects Ethereum's valuations. In addition to staking growth, U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds recorded $6.72 million in net inflows on August 13, with Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust leading the session with about $6.47 million.
While these demand signals are positive, negative order flow remains a concern. Binance cumulative volume delta remains negative, indicating that sellers are more aggressive during this period. This tension makes support behavior more useful than distant price targets, and price confirmation remains central to the near-term market thesis.
