Ethereum Price Hits 60.6% Surge Since July, Nears Historic Record
Ethereum's price has surged by 60.6% since July 1st, marking its second-best third quarter performance in history. The current quarter is on track to surpass the third quarter of 2025, which saw a 66.55% increase and holds the record.
The ETH price traded around $2492 on September 13, compared to approximately $1550 at the start of the quarter. This growth has been largely driven by institutional purchases, with corporate treasuries consolidating their exposure to Ether.
Tom Lee, BitMine's president, noted that 'ETH is the best-performing macroeconomic asset in Q3 2026 so far.' However, his assessment should be considered in context, as the company benefits directly from a rise in Ether. The current momentum has begun to lose strength, with the RSI index easing back from an overbought zone.
The next resistance ranges from $2550 to $2650, and a sustained breakthrough could place ETH above the theoretical level needed to beat the third quarter 2025 performance. A drop below $2350 could weaken Ethereum's rally, reducing its quarterly performance.
