Ethereum Price Holds Steady Below $1,900 as Retail Distribution Rises
Ethereum's price has been holding steady below $1,900 as retail distribution rises. Over the past week, investors in the 1K-10K ETH bracket reduced their holdings by 230K ETH, while those with 100-1K ETH collectively reduced their balance by roughly 130K ETH.
According to on-chain data, this represents a combined net outflow of 360K ETH from retail wallets. The Spent Output Profit Ratio (SOPR) indicates that most distributions during this period were done near break-even prices, suggesting that investors are potentially moving out of the market as prices approach their acquisition costs.
With geopolitical tensions and a modestly hawkish Federal Reserve, investors seem cautious in having a directional bias. The crypto market has been experiencing one of its weakest trading volumes since November 2023, with reports indicating hesitant investors.
In the short term, Ethereum faces resistance at the 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $1,869. On the daily chart, ETH is holding a neutral near-term posture as prices sit between the tight 50- and 20-day EMAs.
