Ethereum Price Slips Below $2,500 Amid Inflation Fears and Rate Hikes
The Ethereum price fell to $2,487.51 after a 0.38% seven-day decline, pushing the token below $2,500 and into a key technical zone.
This move follows stronger U.S. inflation readings, which have raised expectations of a September rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that August CPI rose 0.4% monthly and 3.4% annually, while core CPI increased 0.3% for the month but eased to 2.4% annually.
Fund flows have offered some counterweight to this pullback, with U.S. spot Ether ETF inflows totaling $216.4 million on September 11 and reversing a previous day's net outflow of $29.9 million.
