Ethereum Price Target Soars to $250,000 as Tom Lee Sees 'ETH 2.0'
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies, predicts that Ethereum could hit a price of $250,000 in the future. This would be a stunning 125x return on investment from its current price of around $2,000.
In July, Ethereum outperformed both the Nasdaq-100 and Bitcoin by significant margins, beating tech stocks by 25 percentage points and Bitcoin by 11 percentage points. Lee has pointed to this as a potential sign of life for Ethereum, suggesting it could be foreshadowing a massive bull market rally.
However, Ethereum is still down nearly 40% for the year, and recent shakeups at the Ethereum Foundation have raised concerns about internal dissension over the cryptocurrency's future direction. Nevertheless, there are plans to overhaul the Ethereum blockchain to make it faster, cheaper to use, more secure, and more scalable.
