Ethereum's price is currently testing support around $2,438 as it trades near $2,465. The cryptocurrency's post-quantum roadmap is also being addressed through EIP-8288, a proposal that aims to lower the cost of quantum-resistant signatures and cryptographic proofs.

The proposal, which remains in draft form with no confirmed deployment schedule, was merged into Ethereum's EIP repository on September 9. It proposes recursive STARK aggregation, allowing transactions to declare quantum-resistant signatures and STARK proofs as dependencies, thereby reducing data and gas costs associated with individual verification.

Vitalik Buterin has expressed hope that the proposal can be considered for the I-star fork after Hegota, describing it as a next step after Frames. However, activation would require a network upgrade and is not yet priced in by traders.

For price, Ethereum needs to break through $2,550 and then $2,600 to potentially reach targets near $2,656 and $2,786. A break below $2,310, on the other hand, could shift attention towards deeper support near $2,220.
