Ethereum Project Standardizes Utility in NFTs
The cryptocurrency and NFT space is witnessing a significant shift in focus from 'useless' profile picture (PFP) non-fungible tokens to actual decentralized finance (DeFi) utilities. According to @standard_rsv by @0xbeans, this change can be seen with the launch of the STANDARD project on Ethereum.
The STANDARD NFT, which has a limited supply of 1000, acts as a Charter that gives its holders the power to become bankers and open branches. This is done through the $STANDARD token, which is tied to actual ETH and Stablecoin inflows and outflows. The system dynamically adjusts the supply based on real capital flows.
The fees for selling $STANDARD tokens also adjust in real-time, with 50% being burned and 50% redistributed to the bankers who hold the NFT. This creates a unique economic incentive structure that rewards conviction over speculation.
