Ethereum Reaches for $2,000 as Institutional Demand and Supply Squeeze Support ETH

Ethereum has continued its recovery above the $1,900 mark on August 10 as buyers push to reach the closely watched $2,000 level. The second-largest cryptocurrency's latest gain comes as institutional demand improves, exchange-held supply remains tight and broader crypto sentiment strengthens.

The improving institutional backdrop has helped buyers defend key support levels even as Ethereum struggles to break decisively above $2,000. Recent reports indicate that spot Ether ETFs have attracted fresh money, with ETF inflows emerging as an important source of demand as ETH trades near $1,900.

Ethereum's supply picture is another factor supporting the market. Exchange reserves have fallen substantially in 2026 as investors move ETH into self-custody and staking. Recent data cited by market analysts put exchange-held ETH near 15.1 million tokens in July, while more than one-third of the supply was reportedly committed to staking.
