Ethereum Reserve Decline Puzzles Analysts Amid Price Surge
Ethereum reserves on trading platforms have plummeted by 18% since the start of June, dropping from 7.69 million to 6.28 million coins.
This decline occurred despite a significant price jump of 27%, with Ethereum's market value surging to $2,528 as of August 16.
Contrary to conventional market logic, this trend is unusual since investors typically withdraw assets from exchanges during downturns, not when prices are rising.
The reason for this divergence lies in the difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum holders' goals. While BTC holders keep their coins on exchanges for quick trading, ETH investors transfer theirs directly into staking protocols to generate yield within the network.
