Ethereum Sees Fifth Week of ETF Inflows Amid Whale Activity and Security Concerns
Ethereum's spot ETFs recorded their fifth consecutive week of net inflows, with $245 million flowing in during August 3-7. This suggests that institutional investors continue to warm up to Ethereum as a core portfolio holding.
The five-week streak is notable compared to earlier this year when flow patterns were more volatile. Sustained positive flows typically reflect growing confidence among asset managers and their clients, even during weeks with choppy prices.
A recent test transfer by an address that participated in Ethereum's 2015 ICO at $0.311 per token has raised questions about potential large-holder selling. The wallet sent a small 0.1 ETH transfer to Coinbase on August 9, which is often a precursor to a larger deposit.
Meanwhile, the Solana-linked hacker who moved $14.2 million in stolen funds through Tornado Cash nearly a month ago has sent another $4.39 million to the mixer on August 9.
