Ethereum's spot demand has seen an uptick in recent times, as evidenced by significant inflows into Ethereum ETFs last week. Specifically, these funds drew in $9.23M in new investments. Meanwhile, large holders of Ethereum have been adding to their coin holdings.

Bitmine and Arthur Hayes were among those who made notable additions, with Bitmine acquiring 9,946 ETH (worth approximately $5.79M) and Arthur Hayes adding 7,213 ETH to his stash.

The increased demand for Ethereum has also been reflected in the cryptocurrency's price performance. However, it's worth noting that the Ethereum ecosystem has faced significant challenges in recent times, particularly with regards to security.

According to data from Cointelegraph, the first half of 2026 saw a surge in hack losses due to application-layer exploits. The primary targets included bridges, smart contracts, restaking, stablecoins, and decentralized exchanges (DEXs), which have affected ETHUSD spot CFD traders.
