Ethereum Shatters Year-Long Trendline, Buyers Must Hold Ground
Ethereum has finally broken above its long-standing descending trendline that had capped its price action for nearly a year. This significant milestone is crucial as it clears a major hurdle and paves the way for potential further gains.
The trendline, which extended from Ethereum's $4,950 peak in late 2025, posed a formidable barrier to every rally attempt since then. However, the recent surge from $1,900 to ~$2,500 has decisively pushed price outside this pattern and taken out the 0.236 Fibonacci retracement of the broader drop.
To confirm the breakout, buyers must hold onto the newly won territory, particularly above the key support level of $2,300. This threshold marks a crucial test for Ethereum, as a weekly close below it would invalidate the breakout and potentially send price back towards the $2,000 demand block.
