Ethereum Spot ETFs Outshine Bitcoin Amid Trading Slowdown
The trading value of Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) has slowed sharply over the past week, falling to its lowest level since October 2024. According to Cryptopolitan, Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded about $8.05 billion in trading value over five trading sessions through last Friday, down 14 percent from the previous week's $9.37 billion.
This decline coincided with a stagnant Bitcoin price, which remained around $64,000 for most of the past week and was far from its year-end highs. As a result, traders' activity has been dampened, leading to lower trading volumes.
Meanwhile, Ethereum spot ETFs have seen stronger net inflows, recording about $103.9 million over the same period. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led inflows with $96.3 million, while the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust recorded $9.9 million of net inflows.
It's worth noting that asset size and pace of inflows do not necessarily move in tandem. While Bitcoin spot ETFs face slower trading and redemption pressure, Ethereum spot ETFs have increased their presence in recent inflows.
