Ethereum Staking Demand Surges as Exit Queue Hits Zero
The Ethereum validator exit queue has reached zero for the first time in months, indicating strong staking demand. This is according to analytics platform Arkham, which notes that during last year's market crash, the exit queue peaked at 2.6M ETH and took 44 days to clear.
In contrast, the entry queue is currently taking nearly 44 days to get into the staking ecosystem, with around 2.5 million ETH waiting to be staked. This suggests a massive divergence between demand and exit, which Arkham views as a bullish signal.
The surge in staked ETH has reached a record high of 40.9 million ETH, representing a 14% year-on-year increase. The staking ratio relative to overall ETH supply has also hit a new high at 33.97%. This influx of capital into staking is tightening ETH's supply dynamics.
Staking demand is not limited to retail investors; institutional players are also involved, with the U.S. spot ETH ETF and treasury firms like Bitmine contributing to the demand. The options market is also signaling a bullish stance, with calls (bullish bets) dominating trading volume for September and early August option expiries.
