Ethereum Staking Economy Hits New Heights Amid Weakening Price
The Ethereum staking economy has reached new heights, with approximately 41.7 million ETH currently staked, accounting for about 34% of the total supply.
This represents a significant increase in staking activity, and it's contributing to the tightening of effective ETH float. Despite this, the price of ETH has weakened, declining from around $3,400 in January to approximately $1,900.
The growth in staking volume continues, with validators earning consensus rewards plus priority fees and MEV when proposing blocks. However, risks such as downtime and slashing remain a concern.
