Ethereum Staking Hits 40.2 Million ETH, Accounting for One-Third of Total Supply

Bitwise has released its staking report for Q3 2026, revealing that 40.2 million ETH have been staked on Ethereum, accounting for a significant 33% of the total supply.

This is a significant increase in staking activity, with most of it coming from institutions such as corporate treasuries and large holders. This trend continues even as prices fall.

Other networks also show high staking ratios: Solana at 68%, Near at 45%, Hyperliquid at 44%, and Avalanche at 41%.

Ethereum's throughput has seen a notable increase of 73% year-over-year, while Avalanche's transaction volume has quadrupled compared to last year.
