Ethereum Staking Hits Record High as Exchange Reserves Plummet
Ethereum's staking ratio has hit an all-time high of 32%, marking a significant shift in the way holders are managing their coins. This record-breaking figure represents the largest share of supply ever locked into validators, with over half of Ethereum's circulating supply now being used for staking.
The amount of ETH held on exchanges has dropped dramatically, falling from above 33 million in 2021 to around 14.9 million today. This decline is not a new trend, having started its downward trajectory in early 2026 and accelerating through 2025.
According to analysts, the combination of rising staking rates and decreasing exchange reserves points to investors increasingly storing their coins for longer-term holding rather than immediate trading or selling. The supply squeeze is seen as a tightening trend that may have significant implications for market dynamics.
