Ethereum Staking Hits Record High Despite Price Decline
Ethereum staking has reached an all-time high of 41.7 million ETH, which is roughly one-third of the cryptocurrency's circulating supply.
This figure represents a significant increase from January, when only 36.2 million ETH was staked.
The growth in staking deposits continued despite Ethereum's price decline from approximately $3,400 to $1,900 during the same period.
Ethereum validators receive newly issued ETH for proposing blocks, attesting to transactions, and supporting network consensus. These rewards can be returned to staking, creating a compounding effect even when ETH's dollar price falls.
