Ethereum Staking Hits Record High, Hides Hidden Exit Risk

Ethereum's staking percentage has reached an all-time high of 33.33%, indicating increased network commitment and conviction among validators.

However, this also creates a hidden exit risk due to the growing pool of validators locked in a queue-dependent mechanism.

The main driver behind this concentration is Bitmine, which holds close to 5% of total ETH supply and accounts for approximately 12% of total supply staked. The firm operates at an 85% utilization rate and has issued preferred stock with a 9.5% annual fixed dividend paid out weekly.

This financing structure binds every other validator, as Bitmine's exit from the network could trigger a surge in wait times for validators trying to withdraw their staked ETH.
