Ethereum Staking Hits Record High with 41M Tokens Locked
Ethereum staking has reached a record high, with over 41 million tokens locked in the network. This represents 34% of the circulating supply, valued at $77.7 billion. The total notional value deposited stands at $77.7 billion, marking a 40% year-over-year decline.
The annual validation rewards have dropped to 2.62%, while the issuance rate rose to 0.842%. According to data shared by Merlijn The Trader, this is the lowest payout ever offered to lock tokens in staking.
The reduced returns may prompt investors to explore alternative yield options. However, Merlijn The Trader cautions that the risk of selling pressure from liquid staking tokens or withdrawals remains a concern.
