Ethereum Staking Participation Surges Amid Price Rally

The Ethereum network has witnessed a significant price hike in recent times, with its largest altcoin ETH climbing close to $2500 from near $1900. However, this surge may not necessarily indicate that ETH will continue going up.

A closer look at the staking side of Ethereum's supply reveals an unexpected behavior during the major price rally. Instead of seeing a rush to unlock ETH, the network is witnessing continued commitment to staking.

The Ethereum Validator Queue shows that the 'exit queue' has hit 0, indicating that around 902,506 validators are active and about 42.4 million ETH are staked, accounting for 34.8% of the total supply. This is a significant increase in staking participation, especially considering that in August 2026, the entry wait time fell from around 43-44 days to roughly 36 days.

The number of active validators has also recovered, rising sharply from approximately 887,000 at the start of August to over 900,000 by late August. This expansion of Ethereum's validator base signals strong staking participation and limited exit pressure.
