Aave founder Stani Kulechov has expressed concerns over Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 8361, also known as Tapered Issuance Burn. The proposal aims to cap staking incentives by reducing issuance to zero once 50% of the total ETH supply is staked.

Kulechov argues that this would make Ethereum staking rewards unpredictable and less attractive for institutions and solo stakers, potentially pushing investors toward alternative yield-bearing assets.

The Aave founder warned that the proposal could undermine many ETH borrowing strategies in decentralized finance (DeFi), reducing the appeal of borrowing ETH and driving holders to seek other yield-bearing assets such as stablecoins.
