Ethereum Staking Surges Past 32% as Exchange Reserves Collapse
Ethereum staking has reached an all-time high near 32%, meaning that more than one-third of the supply is now locked in validators. This growth came gradually, with several pauses along the way, but has been steady nonetheless.
The proportion of supply held on exchanges has declined significantly, from above 33 million ETH in 2021 to about 14.9 million today. This represents a decline of more than half and indicates that fewer coins are immediately available for trading or selling.
According to analysts, the record staking rate creates a genuine supply floor, but also means that prices can be held up by derivatives leverage rather than spot demand. This tension leaves the market exposed even as the supply side tightens.
