Ethereum Staking Surges to Record Levels Amid Decreasing Rewards
Ethereum staking has reached an all-time high, with over 41 million ETH locked across the network. This represents about 34% of the total Ethereum supply and is worth approximately $77.7 billion at current prices.
The number of ETH in staking has increased despite a decline in rewards for validators. Stakers now earn around 2.62%, down from 3.05% previously, which Merlijn The Trader describes as the lowest payout offered for locking ETH.
This shift in Ethereum's dynamics comes as its market price remains near an important recovery zone. According to the daily ETH/USD chart on Bitstamp, Ethereum is trading around $1,859 and has seen a 0.95% decrease during the recent reading.
