Ethereum Stands Firm at $1,900 as Fed Decision Looms
Ethereum's price has held steady at around $1,900 as the market waits for the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates. The current odds of a rate hike stand at 35.8%, with many analysts expecting a hold. This would be the fifth consecutive hold, and the Fed's messaging around financial conditions and inflation is seen as more important than the policy decision itself.
Despite the uncertainty, Ethereum has shown resilience in its price recovery. The asset has gained roughly 30% over the past thirty days, with a clean base formed between $1,540 and $1,600 in late June. This contrasts with earlier failed bounces this year, which were marked by explosive moves followed by sharp corrections.
The positioning ahead of the Fed decision reflects caution, with traders avoiding aggressive positions in either direction. The range has compressed to just $35 on a day with three major macro catalysts: the Federal Reserve's announcement, renewed missile exchanges in the Middle East, and a second consecutive circuit breaker in Korean equities.
The key level for Ethereum's July monthly close is $1,970, which coincides with the 100-day exponential moving average. A hold above this level would extend the month's gains, while a breach below it could lead to further selling pressure.
