Ethereum Struggles to Recover from 59% Decline in a Year
Ethereum's price opened at $1,875.30 on August 14, down about $8 from the previous morning and sitting 59% below its level a year ago.
At its peak in August 2025, Ethereum reached nearly $4,548, making it one of the best-performing assets in any category at that time.
The gap between that high and today's price is roughly $2,673, and closing this distance has proven more challenging than expected for holders who anticipated a recovery when the slide began in late 2025.
Ethereum has gained about 5.5% since mid-July, recovering from around $1,776 as some of the pressure from elevated oil prices and tight monetary conditions eased slightly.
