Ethereum Stuck Below $3000 as Bitcoin Surges Past $82,000
Ethereum's price has been on a rollercoaster ride over the past few days, recovering sharply but still lagging behind Bitcoin's surge to $82,000. The Ethereum price climbed back above $2,500 after gaining nearly 5%, while Bitcoin moved into uncharted territory as institutional demand returned to the crypto market.
The divergence between Ethereum and Bitcoin becomes clearer when looking at the latest ETF flows, whale activity, and on-chain data. Traders are showing renewed buying interest, but the underlying data does not confirm the broad demand required to sustain above $2,500. This may keep the token stuck below its range for a long time.
Ethereum's ETF inflows have been less consistent compared to Bitcoin's, with nearly a billion dollars pouring in since the start of the month. The highest recorded figure in September was +$59.3K in inflows with few outflows, ending a 12-session inflow streak that bought more than a billion into the products.
Ethereum's on-chain activity is not confirming the recovery, with daily active addresses decreasing since August 9th and remaining below 500K this month. This suggests the ETH price is recovering but network participation is not accelerating at the same pace.
