Ethereum Surges Past $2500 Resistance, But Whale Selling Adds Pressure
Ethereum's price has surged to $2,508.45 after a 4.1% increase in the past 24 hours, marking its return to profit since February 2026.
The largest altcoin has struggled to break above the resistance level at $2500, but the recent RSI (Relative Strength Index) reading indicates strong bullish momentum, as it slowly comes down from the overbought territory to the 60-70 range.
This positive sentiment is further reinforced by Ethereum's MVRV (Market Value to Realized Value), which has remained above 1.00 for the first time in 200 consecutive days, indicating that holders are sitting on an average unrealized profit.
However, a huge Ethereum whale has sold its entire 167,855 ETH position worth around $408 million over five days, adding selling pressure to the market.
