Ethereum Surges to Near $2,500 on Strong August Rally
Ethereum has ended August on a high note, recovering sharply from its mid-month lows to reach around $2,500. The strong rally has made ETH one of the strongest performers in the major cryptocurrency market during August.
The recovery was driven by institutional demand, US spot Ethereum ETF inflows, and reduced exchange supply. In fact, recent reports show that Ethereum ETFs recorded a wave of inflows in August, with a single-day inflow of $225.8 million on August 28, while nine consecutive sessions produced roughly $1.42 billion in net inflows.
However, analysts continue to watch whether the cryptocurrency can establish a sustained breakout above nearby resistance at $2,500-$2,550. A weekly close above this level could open the way towards the $3,000 target. On the downside, the $2,400-$2,470 area has become an important support zone.
The recent market analysis suggests that Ethereum's momentum has slowed near $2,500 as some traders take profits after the sharp August advance.
