Ethereum Surpasses Bitcoin in Wallet Count, Reaches New Milestone
Ethereum has pulled far ahead of other major blockchains in user adoption, according to new data from on-chain analytics firm Santiment. The platform now boasts an impressive 182.74 million non-empty wallets, a figure that is more than three times the count on the Bitcoin network.
This milestone marks a significant achievement for Ethereum, as it surpasses Bitcoin's wallet count in 2019 and has continued to accelerate since then. In fact, Ethereum's trajectory dwarfs every other major blockchain in user adoption, with its address count reaching an all-time high.
The gap between Ethereum and the next closest blockchain, Tether (USDT), is substantial, with a staggering difference of over 169 million addresses. Other notable blockchains, such as Dogecoin (DOGE) and XRP (XRP), fall even further behind, with address counts in the millions.
Ethereum's lead is largely attributed to its smart-contract functionality, which supports a broad ecosystem of decentralized finance applications and tokens. This structural advantage has compounded over time, pushing Ethereum's address count into territory no other chain has reached.
