Ethereum Surpasses Bitcoin with Record-Breaking 182M Wallets
Ethereum has pulled far ahead of every other major blockchain in user adoption, according to new data from on-chain analytics firm Santiment. The smart-contract platform now boasts a record-breaking 182.74 million non-empty wallets, more than three times the count on the Bitcoin network.
This milestone marks a significant achievement for Ethereum, surpassing Bitcoin's holder base back in 2019 and continuing to accelerate since then. In contrast, Bitcoin trails behind with 58.51 million addresses, while other major cryptocurrencies such as Tether (USDT), Dogecoin (DOGE), XRP (XRP), USDC (USDC) and Cardano (ADA) fall far short.
Ethereum's lead in user adoption is attributed to its smart-contract functionality, which supports a broad ecosystem of decentralized finance applications and tokens. This structural advantage has allowed the network to compound over time, pushing its address count into territory no other chain has reached.
