Ethereum Topples $1,980 as Strong ETF Flows and OCC Approval Fuel Rally
Ether (ETH) surged on July 27, jumping 4.5% to reach $1,980 and close in on the coveted $2,000 mark.
The rally was fueled by sustained inflows into spot ETH exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which absorbed nearly $104 million between July 20 and 24, indicating strong institutional support for the digital asset.
Circle's recent approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish a national trust bank also played a significant role in boosting investor confidence.
The OCC's endorsement reduces regulatory friction for institutional players, locking in long-term liquidity and accelerating enterprise adoption across Ethereum's decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.
